Steinbomer & Associates, Architects AIA, is a dedicated and talented team of young professionals led by Robert A. Steinbomer, AIA, principal and president. Our firm, developed over the past 20 years, is committed to assisting our clients in creating buildings that are sensitive to both the environment and the occupants' needs and desires. We view the design process as a collaborative dialogue between owner, architect and site with the common goal of producing artful, sensible and value-conscious design. Our commitment to quality has proven instrumental in providing a variety of clients with a broad spectrum of residential, commercial, historical and institutional projects.

Our firm has been honored for design excellence in a variety of publications, including: Metropolitan Home; the New York Times; Southern Living; Texas Architect; Austin's local Tribeza; and, The Home Office Book. We have also featured many homes on the Austin AIA Annual Homes Tour and received local, statewide and national recognition for our work.

Robert A. Steinbomer, AIA, Principal

As the President of Steinbomer & Associates, Architects AIA, Robert plays an integral role in the office's work. Acting as lead designer, guide or advisor to both the client and staff, Robert facilitates a smooth design process and quality assurance in each stage of a project's development.

Robert A. Steinbomer, AIA, has been recognized for design and artistic talent throughout school and professional practice. His 25 years of architectural and project management experience is enhanced by seven years of hands-on construction experience, prior to graduating with Highest Honors in architecture from the University of Texas at Austin. He is a scholar on the history of architecture and brick-making in Texas and has been a consultant to many architects and historians in researching the history of masonry buildings. His articles have been published in Texas Architect Magazine, Perspective (the journal of the Texas Society of Architectural Historians) and the Texas Historic Preservation Handbook. He is a former President of the Texas Fine Arts Association and a past chairman of the Texas Historic Resources Committee of the Texas Society of Architects.

Robert has maintained a continued involvement in non-profit community and arts organizations. His experience ranges from serving as a board member of the Nueces County Community Action Agency in 1972 (an OEO program), to participating in the Fine Arts Advisory Committee for Austin Independent School District's Forming the Future. He has also taken active roles for the Laguna Gloria Art Museum and School, the Austin Child Guidance Center, the Texas Fine Arts Association, Women and Their Work of Austin and the Austin Film Society.
