11-06 St. James Episcopal Church site blessing

This past November, a site blessing and ground breaking ceremony was held at the future site for St. James’ Episcopal Church in East Austin.

Parishioners gathered in a circle around the future foundation, linking hands in a circle for the blessing. As part of the ceremony all attendants added soil from all over the world to the foundation of the new church. The soil was brought in from the parishioners’ homes, their original and current church locations, the National Cathedral, Chimayo, New Mexico, Israel, and various other places around the world. Completion of the project is expected in the fall.

2-07 Westlake Hills New Residence

During the schematic design and design development phases of a project, we often create 3D models to help us and the clients visualize the project.

For this new house in Westlake Hills, a challenging site and an emphasis on city views warranted 3D models of the interior and exterior of the home and site. With the help of these models, we were able to explore with the clients various options for locating the home on the site, understanding the volumes and forms of the house, and studying the ways views to the city would be seen from the house and the site.
