The mission of AIA Austin is to serve the Members and promote public awareness of the built environment and the architectural profession. Its goals and objectives are to educate Members and the Public; promote leadership on worthy architectural and environmental issues; and function as a broad communications link for the Members, related organizations and the Public.
The Texas Society of Architects is a member association representing the members of the American Institute of Architects in Texas. Founded in 1939, TSA is made up of 17 regional chapters; the Society is headquartered in Austin. The objective of the organization are:
* Organize and unite in fellowship the members of the architectural profession of the state of Texas;
* Promote the aesthetic, scientific, and practical efficiency of the profession;
* Advance the science and art of planning and building by advancing the standards of architectural education, training, and practice;
* Coordinate the building industry and the profession of architecture to ensure the advancement of the living standards of people through their improved environment; and
* Make the profession of ever-increasing service to society.
